A highly regarded litigation practice is seeking an experienced and motivated Litigation Paralegal to join its New York City office. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to play a critical role supporting attorneys through all phases of complex litigation, including commercial and intellectual property cases.
Responsibilities
- Manage complex cases through all phases of litigation, including case organization, tracking deadlines, and maintaining files
- Assist attorneys with day-to-day case management across multiple matters
- Prepare, proofread, and cite-check pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery documents
- File and serve legal documents in Federal courts (ECF), ensuring compliance with all procedural requirements
- Maintain case calendars, including deadlines, hearings, depositions, and filings
- Support and manage e-discovery processes, including document collection, review, and production
- Assist with deposition and trial preparation, including exhibit organization and logistics
- Conduct factual research and assist with investigations as needed
- Collaborate with attorneys and staff to ensure timely and accurate work product
Qualifications
- 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience supporting complex, high-volume matters
- Experience in defense-side complex litigation strongly preferred
- Paralegal certificate required
- Demonstrated experience with:
- E-discovery platforms and workflows
- Federal court filings (ECF)
- Managing cases through all phases of litigation
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Adobe, and litigation support tools
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $85,000 - $150,000 (based on experience)
- Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package
- Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM (Monday-Friday), 1 day remote per week after initial orientation period
- Billable Requirement: 100 hours/month
